On April 17^, 2024, JIKS Primary English Department held its annual English Game Time event for grades 1-3. The hallways at JIKS were filled with excitement and joy as students took part in a variety of engaging and fun games to build their confidence with English vocabulary.

The event was a great success! Especially for the first graders as they got to experience how much fun learning English can be since it was their first English Game Time event! Thank you to all who helped organize and execute an exciting experience for our students.

The following games were played throughout the day across multiple EL classrooms.

Flash Card Mania: Students raced to flip flashcards and matched the words given by the teacher.

Hot Seat: One lucky student sat in the hot seat and guessed words that their classmates knew but they did not!

Flyswatter Race: Students listen to the words and then hit flashcards with flyswatters. Then they had to shout the word.

The Floor is Lava: Students walked on the flashcards and climb on obstacles whilst avoiding touching the floor and talk about any object or flashcard they find themselves on

Flashcard Fishing: Students fished flashcards out of a pond and had to tell their teacher the word on the flashcard or make a sentence using that word.
